LIFE-IP CEI-Greece Project – Organization of an Info Day & Three-Day Regional Workshop on Circular Economy, 17-19/6/2025

An Info Day and a Regional Circular Economy Workshop in the Region of Epirus are being co-organized by the Green Fund, the Ministry of Environment and Energy, the Region of Epirus, the Municipality of Ioannina, the Epirus Waste Management Authority of Epirus, and TERRA NOVA Ltd. Environmental Technical Consultancy, from June 17 to 19, 2025, in Ioannina, at the Event Hall of the Technical Chamber of Greece  / Epirus Department (6-8 Aravantinou Street), in the framework of the LIFE-IP CEI-Greece Project – LIFE18 IPE/GR/000013 "Implementation of circular economy in Greece".

Innovative Actions for Agro-Food Waste Management and Practical Enhancement of the Bioeconomy

The Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEEN) and the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) have entered into a Memorandum of Collaboration aiming to strengthen the Circular Economy in the agro-food sector, within the framework of the European project LIFE-IP CEI-Greece – Implementation of the Circular Economy in Greece.

Successful Implementation of DIADYMA’s “Reuse and Recycling in Practice” Actions in Meliti and Aiani  – Next Stops: Karpero, Mesopotamia, and Livadero

The “Reuse and Recycling in Practice” events, organized by DIADYMA in collaboration with the Municipality of Florina and the Municipality of Kozani, were successfully completed. The activities took place on Wednesday, May 7th, in the courtyard ofPrimary School of the Meliti municipal unit of the Municipality of Florina, and on Thursday, May 8th, in the Central Square of the Aiani municipal unit of the Municipality of Kozani. This initiative aims to raise public awareness in Western Macedonia about the recycling and reuse of everyday items. The actions are carried out under the LIFE-IP CEI-Greece project (LIFE18 IPE/GR/000013), which aims to implement the Circular Economy in Greece, in cooperation with Appliances Recycling S.A. and AFIS S.A.

Memorandum of Collaboration between the Ministry of Environment & Energy of Greece and Andravida-Kyllini Municipality

A Memorandum of Collaboration, within the framework of the LIFE-IP CEI-Greece project – LIFE18 IPE/GR/000013 «Implementation of Circular Economy in Greece»- was signed by the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEEN) of Greece and the Municipality of Andravida-Kyllini (Regional Unit of Ilia) to promote and utilize the region's agro-food waste in accordance with the principles of the circular economy.

Memorandum Agreement of Cooperation for the Safe Management of hazardous infectious waste from home medical care

The cooperation between DIADYMA S.A., the Pharmaceutical Associations of Grevena, Kastoria, Kozani, Florina, and the Cooperative of Pharmacists of the Pharmaceutical Associations of Western Macedonia was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum Agreement for the development of a pilot collection and proper management of infectious (sharps) domestic health care waste network. The agreement was signed on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 14:00, at the offices of DIADYMA.

Pilot Implementation for the Separate Collection of Hazardous Household Waste in the Municipality of Athens

The Municipality of Athens continues the pilot implementation of the separate collection of Hazardous Household Waste (HHW), as part of the initiative titled “Full-scale implementation of HHW collection networks and management (C3).”This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with “Terra Nova Environmental Technical Consulting Ltd.”, as a partner, within the framework of the LIFE-IP CEI Greece – LIFE18 IPE/GR/000013 "Implementation of Circular Economy in Greece" Project, coordinated by the Ministry of Environment and Energy.
