Municipality of Athens: International Zero Waste Day with 170 Primary School Students

Students from primary schools in Athens took part in the creation of an experiential model community at Agios Thomas Square in Goudi. On the occasion of the International Day of Zero Waste, on March 30, they were informed by the Directorate of Cleaning and Recycling of the Municipality of Athens—participating in the LIFE-IP CEI Greece programme—and by Appliances Recycling S.A., about the proper management of hazardous household waste, with a particular focus on electrical and electronic equipment.

LIFE-IP CEI-Greece Project – Organization of an Info Day & Three-Day Regional Workshop on Circular Economy, 17-19/6/2025

An Info Day and a Regional Circular Economy Workshop in the Region of Epirus are being co-organized by the Green Fund, the Ministry of Environment and Energy, the Region of Epirus, the Municipality of Ioannina, the Epirus Waste Management Authority of Epirus, and TERRA NOVA Ltd. Environmental Technical Consultancy, from June 17 to 19, 2025, in Ioannina, at the Event Hall of the Technical Chamber of Greece  / Epirus Department (6-8 Aravantinou Street), in the framework of the LIFE-IP CEI-Greece Project – LIFE18 IPE/GR/000013 "Implementation of circular economy in Greece".

The 4th Monitoring Session of LIFE-IP CEI-Greece took place with great success.

The 4th external monitoring session of the project LIFE-IP CEI-Greece "Circular Economy Implementation in Greece" coordinated by the Ministry of Environment & Energy has been completed with great success. The monitoring session took place on September 22 and 23, 2022, in the presence of the external monitoring team members, Mr. Aurelio Politano (Project Adviser, European Agency for Climate, Infrastructure & the Environment – CINEA ), Sofia Papageorgiou and Elias Demian (Technical Monitors , NEEMO EEIG ) and the 20 beneficiaries of the project. Mr. Manolis Grafakos, General Secretary of Waste Management Coordination opened the session with a greeting speech.

Hybrid information event in the city of Kozani | 22/6/2022

Our associated beneficiary DIADYMA SA organized a succesfull hybrid event in the city of Kozani, on Wednesday 22 June 2022, in the context of LIFE-IP CEI-Greece. The event was entitled "The European project LIFE-IP CEI-Greece, Circular Economy Implementation in Greece, in the Region of Western Macedonia" and was part of the 30 year anniversary celebration events of the european funding programme LIFE (https://www.lifeis30.eu/).

LIFE-IP CEI-Greece on the 9th International Conference of Sustainable Solid Waste Management (Hazardous Hosehold Waste in the Municipality of Athens).

The results of Action A2.4, for the Municipality of Athens, "Preparatory studies for the integrated management of Hazardous Household Waste" were presented in the 9th International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management (https://corfu2022.uest.gr/index.php/en/) that took place in the island of Corfu - Greece between  15 - 18 June 2022.
