The Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEEN), coordinator of the LIFE-IP CEI-Greece project – LIFE18 IPE/GR/000013 "Implementation of Circular Economy in Greece", along with three (3) partners—the Green Fund, the Hellenic Recycling Agency (HRA), and the Ecological Recycling Society (ERS)—organized an event on February 21, 2025, as part of the VERDE TEC Exhibition. The event presented the project’s initial results and fostered discussions on the significance and future of Circular Economy in Greece.
The LIFE-IP CEI-Greece project is coordinated by MEEN and implemented in collaboration with 19 strategic partners. Its ultimate goal is to contribute to the implementation of the National Waste Management Plan, the National Waste Prevention Program, and the National Strategy for Circular Economy.

In collaboration with the Payment and Control Agency for Guidance and Guarantee Community Aid (OPEKEPE), the Waste Management Directorate of the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEEN) and Harokopion University are conducting a national survey in order to meet the country's obligations regarding the collection of data for food waste, generated from the harvested plant-based production for human consumption.

The project LIFE-IP CEI-Greece organizes, in the framework of action C7.2 "Development of a stakeholder dialogue forum for the prevention of food waste generation", the 1st Forum for the prevention of food waste generation - Measurement, prevention and management of food waste in the catering industry. The forum will be held alongside the Retaste 2022 – Rethink Food Waste conference (www.retaste.gr, October 20-21) and will take place on October 20, 13.30-17.00 at the Hellenic Mediterranean University in Heraklion, Crete with the option for live or on-line attendance, for the catering and hospitality industry.

The Municipality of Vari, Voula, Vouliagmeni (MoVVV) organized succesfully an information event, on June 24, 2022, as part of a public consultation procedure that is currently conducting, for the establishment of the first Enhanced Green Centre (EGC) in the country. The event aimed to inform the local community about the establishment of an Enhanced Green Centre (EGC), an outcome of the municipality's collaboration with the project LIFE-IP CEI-Greece, of which MoVVV is a strategic partner.
