The Municipality of Alonissos invites you to an open information event entitled “Implementing the Circular Economy on the Island of Alonissos”, which will take place on Friday, 19 June 2026, at 3:00 p.m., at the Alonissos Town Hall Amphitheatre. The event is organized within the framework of the European project LIFE-IP CEI-Greece – “Implementation of the Circular Economy in Greece.”
During the event, the Municipality of Alonissos, with the support of the Sustainable Islands Network (DAFNI), will present the actions already being implemented under the project, including the separate collection at source and door-to-door collection of recyclable materials from food service businesses located in the island’s main settlements and beaches. Future actions will also be presented, such as the management and valorization of bio-waste generated by food service businesses through separate collection and mechanical composting.
An open discussion will follow on the opportunities and prospects for implementing Circular Economy practices on the island.
Representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, which coordinates the LIFE-IP CEI-Greece project, will attend the event. The event is open to the general public, as well as to local stakeholders and businesses of Alonissos.
