An Info Day and a Regional Circular Economy Workshop in the Region of Epirus are being co-organized by the Green Fund, the Ministry of Environment and Energy, the Region of Epirus, the Municipality of Ioannina, the Epirus Waste Management Authority of Epirus, and TERRA NOVA Ltd. Environmental Technical Consultancy, from June 17 to 19, 2025, in Ioannina, at the Event Hall of the Technical Chamber of Greece / Epirus Department (6-8 Aravantinou Street), in the framework of the LIFE-IP CEI-Greece Project – LIFE18 IPE/GR/000013 “Implementation of circular economy in Greece”.
Specifically, on June 17, from 10:30 to 14:45, the Information Day will be held, aimed at the public. Its purpose is to present the LIFE-IP CEI-Greece project, showcase successful circular economy practices that can be applied in the Region of Epirus, and enhance overall understanding of circular economy issues.
This will be followed by the Three-Day Regional Capacity-Building Workshop, which will take place on June 17 from 14:45 to 18:00, and on June 18 and 19 from 09:30 to 14:30. The workshop will address the following thematic areas:
- Day One: “Circular Economy in the Agro-food Sector in Epirus”
- Day Two: “Local Authorities & Circular Economy”
- Day Three: “Circular Economy & Entrepreneurship”
The workshop will include discussions with invited guest speakers and representatives of relevant institutions, presentations on circular economy-related topics, hands-on training activities, and the presentation of case studies by project partners. The workshops aim to train all relevant stakeholders involved in the design and implementation of circular waste management solutions, including municipalities, industries, SMEs, farmers’ associations, professional and industrial chambers, local tourism associations, NGOs, and others.
