Another important voluntary collaboration agreement promoting the circular economy has been established within the framework of the LIFE-IP CEI-GREECE project, coordinated by the Ministry of Environment and Energy, with ALFA ACOUSTIC S.A. joining its network of partnerships for the valorisation of agri-food waste and by-products.

The new collaboration agreement demonstrates in practice the potential of the circular economy to transform materials of low economic value into useful raw materials for new production applications. Through innovation and appropriate processing, livestock by-products can remain within the production cycle, reducing the consumption of primary resources while creating new opportunities for sustainable products.

ALFA ACOUSTIC S.A. uses sheep and goat wool to manufacture high-performance sound insulation panels suitable for use in buildings and interior spaces. In this way, a natural material that would otherwise have limited potential for further use is given a new purpose and transformed into a raw material for a different industrial sector.

This voluntary collaboration agreement forms part of “Action C5” of LIFE-IP CEI-GREECE, which focuses on developing partnerships among businesses, public and private organisations, and other stakeholders in the agri-food sector, with the aim of preventing, reusing and valorising waste and by-products that can be reintegrated into the economy.

Particular emphasis is placed on creating synergies between different production sectors, enabling by-products from agri-food and livestock production to become valuable raw materials for other activities. Through these partnerships, the project seeks to showcase applicable good practices, promote industrial symbiosis and create the conditions for the development of new circular value chains.

The collaboration agreement with ALFA ACOUSTIC S.A. is a prime example of how innovation can be combined with environmental responsibility to create solutions that benefit the economy, the environment and society alike.
