The Municipality of Thira invites you to the information event “Implementing the Circular Economy in Thira”, on Friday, 16 October, at 18:00, at the Bellonio Cultural Centre.
The event is organised within the framework of the European project LIFE-IP CEI-Greece, “Circular Economy Implementation in Greece”, coordinated by the Ministry of Environment and Energy.
The Municipality of Thira, with the support of the DAFNI Network, participates in the project as one of the island areas implementing circular economy actions.
The event will provide an update on the actions being implemented under the project and present their encouraging results.
Circular Schools: Schools in the Municipality of Thira help increase recycling through the source separation of recyclable materials.
Door-to-door collection in Kamari: Food service businesses in Kamari are provided with bins free of charge and separate recyclable materials, which are collected directly from their premises.
The event will also explore broader challenges and opportunities concerning waste management and the circular economy in Thira.
Finally, the “Thira Circular School” award will be presented to the school that distinguished itself during the 2025–2026 school year.
The event is open to the public, local stakeholders and businesses.
