Organization of a Regional awareness-raising event (info day) & a Three-Day Regional Circular Economy Workshop in Larissa by the LIFE-IP CEI-Greece Project – 09-11/04/2025
The Green Fund, the Ministry of Environment and Energy (ΜΕΕΝ), the Region of Thessaly, the Municipality of Larissa, the Solid Waste Management Authority (Fo.D.S.A.) of the Region of Thessaly S.A., and the Ecological Recycling Society (ECOREC) are co-organizing and inviting you to the “Regional awareness-raising event (info day) and Regional Circular Economy Workshop”, which will take place from April 9 to April 11, 2025, in Larissa, at JOIST Innovation Park (Valtetsiou & Tripoleos, PC 41336), within the framework of the LIFE-IP CEI-Greece – LIFE18 IPE/GR/000013 “Implementation of Circular Economy in Greece” Project.
The project is coordinated by ΜΕΕΝ and implemented in collaboration with 19 strategic partners, including the Green Fund and ECOREC. The ultimate goal of LIFE-IP CEI-Greece is to contribute to the implementation of the National Waste Management Plan, the National Waste Prevention Program, and the National Strategy for Circular Economy.
On April 9, from 11:00 to 15:00, the Regional awareness-raising event (info day) will take place, addressed to the general public, aiming to present the LIFE-IP CEI-Greece project, highlight successful circular economy practices that can be applied in Thessaly, and provide a better understanding of the issues related to it.
Following this, the Three-Day Regional Capacity Building Workshop will be held on:
- April 9, from 15:00 to 20:00
- April 10 & 11, from 09:30 to 15:00
The thematic sessions of the workshop are as follows:
- Day 1: “Local Authorities & Circular Economy”
- Day 2: “Circular Economy in the Agri-Food Sector in Thessaly”
- Day 3: “Circular Economy & Entrepreneurship”
During the workshop, discussions with invited speakers representing institutions will be held, topics related to the circular economy will be presented, hands-on exercises will be conducted, and case studies from the project partners will be showcased. The workshops aim to train all relevant stakeholders involved in designing and implementing circular waste management solutions, such as municipalities, industries, SMEs, farmers’ associations, professional and industrial chambers, local tourism associations, NGOs, etc.
